SIG DAS
BISC Special Interest Group in Decision Analysis and Support
Welcome to the Special Interest Group in Decision Analysis and Support. The group will engage with colleagues working on any aspect in the development and implementation of approaches to facilitating the decision making process. The SIG objectives are:
- to stimulate and support debate in the field of decision analysis and support
- to build up mutual understanding and create greater cohesion amongst those researching in the field
- to contribute to the scope and agenda, and promote as a multi-disciplinary research area
- to facilitate the development of future research through collaboration between different research centres
The SIG is interested in research conducted at macro, meso and micro levels of organizational decision making. Some aspects may concern the representation and fusion of decision relevant information from different sources characterised by variations in reliability and imprecision. Other aspects of research can relate to the incorporation of decision making characteristics into the information processing approaches, or emphasize the assessment and performance of resulting decisions.
The agenda of the Special Interest Group involves organising sessions at selected conferences and guest editing special journal issues. An emphasis is placed on submitting collaborative proposals to research funding bodies, and encouraging collaboration with industrial partners.
